Spectators Info

An enjoyable spectator experience is of great importance to both sponsors Volvo and the European Tour, and golf fans are asked to note the following hints to maximise their Masters moments.

Spectator safety is vital, and in the current climate, spectators will be screened by metal detectors at the entrance. It would help speed the process up if fans would bring only the essentials, and as mobile phones and cameras are not allowed on course, leaving these items at home would help get spectators to the tees and greens as quickly as possible.

Please bring good strong shoes, either golf shoes or stout walking shoes for comfort and safety.

If phones and cameras are brought into the Masters, they cannot be used on course due to the risk of disturbing golfers who are playing for € 4.25 million and one of the biggest titles in golf.

The weather in Andalucia in late October can be variable, so it is suggested spectators bring a warm garment, waterproofs and umbrellas, but also bring a hat and sun block too.

Should the klaxon be sounded for the suspension of play due to thunder and lightning, spectators should proceed to the nearest place of shelter and safety.

It is greatly appreciated by both players and organisers if spectators keep within the designated areas and also observe the ‘Quiet Please’ signs when they are raised by the marshals.

There are scoreboards located around the golf course and a main leader board in Volvo Village. A daily Order of Play is available upon arrival to help spectators follow their favourites.

Some of the best views of the top stars of the European Tour are at Valderrama’s famous Practice Range, whilst excellent vantage points are located at tees and greens around the course.

Volvo has a proud environmental record, and spectators are requested to deposit discarded litter in the bins provided around the golf course and, if possible use the Volvo Recycle Bins.

The leading 60 golfers on the Order of Merit playing in the Volvo Masters are happy to oblige with autographs, after their round of golf. As players emerge from the recorder’s office behind the 18th green, please remember that the next group of golfers will be putting on the 18th green.

There are first aid personnel located around the golf course and a doctor on site; if assistance is required, please contact a steward with a radio who will call for assistance.

It would be appreciated if spectators would not leave bags unattended anywhere within the Volvo masters Andalucia, and anyone seeing something suspicious should report it to any official with a radio.

Dogs are not permitted on the Club de Golf Valderrama course other than guide dogs, and even though it is autumn, spectators are encouraged not to leave pets in cars for the welfare of the animal.

There are refreshments outlets and toilet facilities at various locations around the Valderrama golf course; please consult the course plan and follow the signposting.

Most importantly of all, enjoy every minute at the Volvo Masters; be safe and please be courteous to the golfers.
